Yes! "Koi" and "Path to the Beach" in watercolors

We all painted gorgeous "Koi!"

Beautiful results from "Path to the Beach!"
The day started with Steve teaching these beginner watercolorists how to paint the beautiful colors of Koi in a Pond.

Painting fish is one thing. Painting fish underwater is another challenge! But these participants were as young as 6!

Some of the morning participants  stayed and some new students came aboard for the afternoon class of "Path to the Beach." The results speak for themselves! Several parents came and painted alongside their children and will have some great memories from today!

You've seen them so now, what's holding you back?

Private Party exposed!

What did we expose at this private party??

 A GREAT time! :-)

Steve and I joined so enjoyed teaching this group of friends and co-workers at our Wake Forest location!  We call them "Private Parties" but of course with co-workers they are a TEAM art party!
They painted individual paintings but a group can also test their organizational skills by having one final image in mind but needing all the individual pieces (paintings) to complete the final vision! A great one to hang on the wall of your office! (the concept is like a quilting bee except all the parts interact!)

So last night the ladies brought in their wines, their cheeses, assorted crackers, shrimp, brownies.....oh and then we started to paint! We reminded them that the key is to not dip your paintbrush into your wine glass so a few brought tall, easily identifiable wine glasses to avoid that small problem :-)
Final view!

A Collage of the group view!

Paint Koi and the Beach in Watercolor! 4/28

We have two super classes coming up this Saturday April 28! Learn to paint gorgeous Koi goldfish in lovely, transparent watercolor from 10-12!  In the afternoon session from 1-3 we'll focus on painting a "Path to the Beach" in watercolor!
Watercolor is a challenging medium but many of you are repeat painters and have expressed a love for watercolor that we love to encourage!

Better yet, learn how you can carry a few watercolor art supplies with you to paint your own vacation scenes at the beach!

Steve will be teaching these classes while I (Theresa) am at the "Heart of the Artist" art show being held the same day around the corner on the grounds of the Wake Forest Seminary.
We will be painting something very similar but adding our beach fencing!

With Path to the Beach we will have some options of adding our coastal beach fencing.

And with Koi in watercolor your patterns and configuration can be your own!
Join us!

What we do for Painting inspirations

Learning to paint by watching us, learning our tips and techniques and seeing the finished results are just one part of your painting journey!

In all of our classes, our participants will hear us say things like "When you painting you are sculpting your image!" or "look at the lights and darks on your subject!" or "You will never look at clouds the same way again after this class...."

We do that because sometimes we get so involved in our day to day activities that we forget to look at the very things we want to paint. A waterfall, a butterfly on a flower, the soft eyes of a favorite pet.....everything deserves more than a fleeting glance!

So make a point of spending some time each day really looking at something beautiful! Then when we paint it, you'll have a finished vision in mind!
